ENVIRONMENT & PERMITS

Environmental coordination

If you operate or change a business, it is likely that you will need or will need to apply for an environmental permit. The classification of companies in class I, II or III is done via a section list.

If your company is a class I or II facility, you may need an environmental coordinator.

Raco can take on this function as an external environmental coordinator and all legal tasks that this entails for your company.

Environmental permits

If you operate or change a business, it is likely that you will need or will need to apply for an environmental permit. The classification of companies in class I, II or III is done via a list of categories.

This section list is a list drawn up by the Flemish government, in which all nuisance and/or harmful activities are included. There are often different levels per category (examples are waste water, storage of hazardous substances, capacity of installations, heating, ...) with which you can be classified in class I, II or III (installed capacity, flow rate, storage quantity, ...).

In a first phase, Raco can check whether you need a permit, after which we can process the complete application for the permit.

If your company is a class I or II establishment, you may also need an environmental coordinator. If this is the case, Raco can also be of service to you!

Socio-Economic Permit

If you want to set up a retail company with a net commercial area of more than 400m³, you will have to apply for a socio-economic permit from the municipality.

A retail company is defined as:

the distribution unit the activity of which consists in the ordinary resale, in its own name and for its own account, of goods to consumers, without subjecting these goods to treatment other than those customary in the trade

The license application must be accompanied by a socio-economic file that contains at least the following criteria:

Spatial location

Protection of urban environment

Consumer protection

Respecting labor law and social law

The application is then processed by the council of aldermen, which in turn requests advice from the NSECD (National Social Economic Committee for Distribution).

Raco is happy to assist you, or can take care of preparing your permit application itself.
